WebsiteBeamMe Pty Ltd is a private Australian owned company. Founded in 2006 by Alex Macpherson and Brad Down.

The concept of BeamMe.Info was conceived in a very Australian way – over a few beers down at Bondi Beach.

Alex Macpherson notes. “I was annoyed with the inconvenience of having to write down information from websites on scraps of paper. We then began thinking about the wider possibilities in tackling the common problems of lost numbers and inaccurate recording of information,”

“After further discussion on practical implementation with Brad, the team began work on the development of a prototype and carried out some initial market research.”

During this time, long-time associate, Tim Murray-Leslie, returned to Australia, after several years overseas, and joined Brad and Alex in putting together the management team for BeamMe.Info.

It quickly became apparent that further staff hires were required, in addition to funding for development costs, registration of trademarks and patents, legal fees and system build. Whilst the fledgling company initially relied on the resources of Known, angel funding was secured from private investors to the amount of $AUD500K

“With funding achieved, the company hired a further three developers and completed its business plan and financial modelling forecasts. This gave us even more insight into the strength of the product and its business potential”

Prior to BeamMe.Info’s official launch, the team have already initiated a buzz and signed up some major clients such as realestate.com, Bunnings Warehouse and Aussie Web.
